The phrase "Because someone should notice if you don't check in” is far more than just a tagline. It is the core belief behind everything we do. Our daily check-in system was created because everyone deserves the reassurance that if something prevents them from responding as expected, someone they know and trust will be alerted ...

Taking a moment to check-in with YourPING gives the people who care about you instant peace of mind

Taking a moment to check-in with YourPING gives the people who care about you instant peace of mind

The idea behind our daily check-in system is immediately understood because it answers a question many people have quietly asked: what would happen if something went wrong for me and nobody knew? It is not about expecting the worst. It is about putting a small, reassuring arrangement in place before it is ever needed.

Modern life has made independence easier, but it has also
left many people spending long periods alone!

An older relative may live independently, a student may move away from home, a loved one may live in a campervan and spend weeks at a time 'off grid', or somebody may work remotely without seeing another person all day. A daily check-in system creates a simple point of connection within those very different lives.

YourPING does not constantly watch, track or listen to anybody. At a chosen time, the person receives a prompt asking whether they are okay. When they respond, their check-in is complete. If they do not respond, or respond that they're not ok, YourPING alerts their trusted contacts so they can reach out.

That simplicity is central to our philosophy. People should not have to sacrifice their privacy to give family or friends peace of mind. Nor should checking in feel complicated, clinical, or intrusive. It should become a small, positive part of their day.

YourPING also recognises that “Are you okay?” does not always have a straightforward answer. Someone can respond "Yes" when everything is fine, or "No" when they would appreciate additional support. The daily check-in system does not try to diagnose a problem or replace medical and emergency services.

It helps trusted people notice when
a conversation may be needed!

Most check-ins will be completed without incident, and that is exactly what we hope for. Yet each response provides simple reassurance, while every missed response means silence is less likely to pass unnoticed.

That is the value of a daily check-in system built around people rather than technology: a simple prompt, a trusted connection and one important promise.

Because someone should notice if you don't check in.

Until next time ...

About Steffi Lewis ...

Steffi Lewis

Based in the charming village of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire, UK, I bring over 30 years of experience in web development. From creating my first website for the Open University in 1993, through being part of the dot com boom, to my explorations in SaaS and AI over the last few years, my journey has been a rich tapestry of web projects, big and small, both funded and bootstrapped.

YourPING was created around a very modern idea: in a world of remote work, automated living and digital communication, it has become surprisingly easy for people to quietly drift off the radar. Bills are paid automatically, shopping arrives online and many people can go days without speaking to someone directly, even while remaining connected to the world through screens and social media.

Designed as a calm and supportive daily check-in system, YourPING helps provide quiet reassurance for people who live alone, work remotely, travel frequently or simply value their independence. Using browser notifications, SMS backup alerts, email escalation and trusted contacts, the platform is intentionally simple to use without complicated gadgets, wearables or intrusive monitoring.

At its heart, YourPING is not about fear or surveillance. It is about modern independent living and the simple comfort of knowing that if something feels unusual, somebody will notice.

My head is in the cloud, my heart belongs to the web, and my soul is filled with such beautiful code 💚
