Deciding between browser notifications, SMS or email? Here's how to select the best check-in setup for your needs

For many users, browser notifications are the quickest and simplest option. They are small pop-up alerts that appear on desktop or tablet computers. They work especially well for people who spend a lot of time online during the day, particularly remote workers or those who regularly use laptops and desktops.

Browser notifications are designed to be
immediate and visible!

However, browser notifications aren't ideal for everyone, and the technology can be a bit twitchy at times. Some people use focus mode on their computers to reduce distractions or improve concentration at work, so these alerts don't always get through. Others may miss them if their laptop is closed or if their device settings block alerts.

SMS messages serve as the fallback during the check-in sequence because they remain one of the most reliable and familiar forms of communication for many people.

Text messages do not require apps, accounts or technical knowledge, and they are often noticed quickly.
